Where are today's sewing circles?
I don't need in on any gossip, but I want to know where are the women gathering these days to learn from one another? Podcasts? Blogs? Books? Social media? Coffee shops?
I can't help but feeling like 'our generation' is missing out on the sharing of knowledge with our peer groups.
I was raised seeing a glimpse of this magic happening with my paternal grandmother and her sisters gathered to share, to talk, and ultimately to teach and learn from one another. And often they gathered in the kitchen. Our family line on that side is Yaqui after all!
Marriage issues? They discussed them. Best recipes? Of course those were shared! Other 'life-hacks' (as we call them now), yep, those too.
Let's learn, let's share, let's reclaim our power in this way together friend.
Skills to Do It Yourself (DIY)
I am a firm believer in self-reliance. Maybe it's because I am stubborn. Or maybe it's because I can see the path to freedom in that which was the 'American Dream', at least at one time.
"leaving a legacy so that this wisdom is never forgotten again and echos in generations to come."
Let's stop the loss of these truths. Let's reclaim this wisdom. Let's practice these skills. Let's do it together!
